"I guess you could say I dumped Madonna", says Jimmy Nail with a laugh. 
The British Actor, whose performance as a worker-turned-pop star in
Crocodile Shoes brought him recognition, stars in 'Evita' with the
bottle blond diva. "I play a chap who's a tango singer who sleeps with
Madonna's character, then dumps her - not like any musician I know,"
jokes Nail. Filming 'Evita' took Nail four weeks longer than planned,
forcing him to switch gears quickly to begin shooting the second season
of Crocodile Shoes. "I left Thursday night and started work in England
on Friday morning," Nail says, adding he had to wear stick on sideburns
in Shoes' first episode to cover his 30's hairstyle from the movie.
"If I absolutely honest, it was a bit of a downer coming off a $60
million movie and getting back to the mundane problems of episodic TV".
As for working with Madonna, Nail says she showed him a few tango steps
- but to no avail. "I spent four months kicking the shins of some poor
dancing instructor and my tango scene was cut from the movie. I was
